Because Our CHILDREN Are Watching

I always tell the students in the upper grades that the little kids are watching them.  We also have to remind ourselves that kids are watching us as adults too.  They listen to the words we say and the things that we do when we don't even tell them.  For example, I tell my teenager not to use her phone when she drives so when I am driving I have to make sure that when my phone rings that I either let someone else in the car answer it or I say, "That will have to wait until I stop somewhere."  Another example is exercising.  Do we dread going for a walk or to the gym or do we go and say it felt great?
I really love the song "I've Been Watching You" by Rodney Atkins.  It pretty much sums up what kids see and how they learn all kinds of things from us as adults.
Being an example is for all of us.
